Modular Power Bus for Space Vehicles

 This research project is a new idea that involves two concepts:

• Data BUS over DC line communication: The current project aims to introduce data BUS capabilities in DC current line with the goal of enabling data transmission through a Powerline. This will result in fast and reliable communications between nodes, maintaining optimal power transmission capabilities.

• Ejectable batteries with intelligent nodes: Depleted batteries can be jettisoned in the launching stages without any power disruption. A battery management system will be designed with intelligent nodes.

In this concept, as many nodes (sensors, actuators, batteries) as needed would be distributed along the system. Connection with all these nodes will be done through the main power bus by using DataBUS over DC line technology. Therefore, system management, provided by a specific node, would flow through the power bus thus avoiding the use of complex additional wire harness.
